A chess blog for the rest of us!

My name is Joe, and I’m a chess fanatic! No honest; I really am! I’m just your Average Chess Joe but I simply can’t get enough of chess! If I’m not online playing chess (5+0 on lichess), then I’m out scouring the internet for the latest chess news. reading books about the history of chess. or astounding my girlfriend with my latest opening. But whenever I look for a relatable chess blog, I’m hit with only two options:

  1. A blog designed for beginning players that revolve around the pieces (It’s a knight, not a horsey!) and how they move. But the blog ends here and doesn’t give relevant information on how to improve my game.
  1. Or it’s an IM’s website detailing the 9th iteration of the Ruy-Lopez opening, while condescendingly telling me “If you don’t understand why the Old Steinitz is a worthless response to Bf5, might I humbly suggest a simpler blog for you and the other novices.

But what about a chess blog for the rest of us? My blog is designed for the “Average Chess Joe .” I’ll give insights on how to improve your game, talk about the latest chess news, and detail some fun facts about the history of chess. I’m not here to highbrow you with endless opening sequences or to insult you with the L-shaped move of the horsey (So maybe it is fun to say!) but to give tips & tricks for the regular chess player, like the rest of us.

Thanks for joining me and let’s have some fun!
